  Today At Camp
WHAT'S HOT
Fan Fest. Marty Schottenheimer allowed practice to start late so players could continue to sign autographs. And every player seemed happy to sign for 35 minutes. Punter Darren Bennett even led a group into the lines to help facilitate the signings. Excellent moves all the way around for a franchise that could afford to spread around some good will.

WHAT'S NOT
Yet another day with no Quentin Jammer. A few more injuries and there won't be much left of the cornerbacks.

DID YOU SEE?
Curtis Conway made a stunning catch between two defenders for a touchdown right before getting stunned by a hit from Rogers Beckett that Conway had to know was coming.

DID YOU HEAR?
"The mountain has moved."

– Marcellus Wiley, at the top of his lungs, after 6-foot-4, 349-pound guard Toniu Fonoti jumped before the snap during a drill.

BACK AT BACK
The experiment of moving Ronney Jenkins to wide receiver is finished. Jenkins, primarily a kick returner who rushed just nine times over the past two seasons, worked with the running backs for the first time this camp. He had been slowly improving as a receiver, but there was no room for him at that position. "He's a part of our plans," Schottenheimer said. "So we're going to continue to try to work with him and continue to give him opportunities."

WORKING WITH FIRST 11
Fonoti worked with the first team in the morning. The second-round draft pick is a man of few words. Afterward, he said: "It's coming. I'm getting there."

ON THE SIDELINES
Cornerback Ryan McNeil did not participate in the afternoon session for a second straight day in order to rest his knees. Tight end Stephen Alexander tried to practice on a tender groin in the morning but quickly stopped and did not practice the rest of the day. Schottenheimer said defensive tackle Jamal Williams could play if it were the regular season but has been sitting out drills off and on with a sore foot.

INJURIES
Alexander (groin), WR Terry Charles (ACL), CB Tay Cody (toe), CB Tony Okanlawon (knee), LB Orlando Ruff (back), TE Josh Whitman (calf) and Williams (foot) did not practice.

TODAY
One practice at 2 p.m. at UCSD.
